Outdoor Furniture Fantasies

Outdoor space is probably my number one thing that I look at when searching for an apartment or house. The inside of the house could be seriously questionable, but if it has some outdoor space that allows me to BBQ, play fetch with my dog, and read outside with a glass of wine – it will win. Every time.

The cottage I live in now has amazing outdoor space, but sort of an odd layout, which has prevented me from really doing a ton to develop it over the past year. I have a cute outdoor rug and a little patio set from Target (found here), which was better suited for my tiny balcony at my last place. I really have room to do a lot more.

As this June gloom gives way to long, leisurely, summer nights, I’ll be looking to make some improvements. I want to do some outdoor lights, add a fire pit, and create a couple more “stories within stories” in my backyard (for example, a separate eating area, separate lounging area, etc).

Naturally it’s easy to blow your budget on amazing pieces from Room & Board or West Elm, but Target, Cost Plus & One Kings Lane have awesome, wallet-friendly options.

Here are some images that I’m fantasizing about right now. I could drool over outdoor space design all day long. Ahhh someday. When I don’t live in LA. and when I am a millionaire.

Love the neutrals here. Maybe if I never have children this works.

This screams "wine nook" to me, personally.
